A Fire Management Platform

Developed in collaboration with the Energy and Natural Resources Security Group (EES-16), Earth and Environmental Sciences Division at Los Alamos National Labs, the FireVista™ platform was designed to bring the science of wildfire research into the hands of fire scientists, managers, planners, trainers, and community leaders.

Working under a TRGR SciVista, Inc. is working to commercialize the QUIC Fire application developed by LANL that produces high-fidelity 3D fire modeling data, we create custom readers and visualizers for that data so that users can interact and collaborate together to understand how to plan prescribed fires.

FireVista™ is purely data driven, there are no artist created terrains or placed fuels. Use true voxel format or flip on visual effect layers to customize each burn for your use case and audience.

The FireVista™ platform supports QUIC-Fire and Fast Fuels.

Technologies

  • Unity 6 is the backbone engine for FireVista. Both the desktop and VR versions of the application were developed in Unity, including the multiplayer synchronization and data visualization.

  • C# was the primary language utilized for this application.

  • Los Alamos National Laboratory’s QUICFire Data Model was integrated with to provide a realistic fire simulation.
