Why I founded Seminaut Game Studios…

When I was in the second grade, I vividly remember the teacher asking us all what we wanted to be when we grow up. I knew my answer without any hesitation. I wanted to make games and bring new worlds to life. I wanted to be a Game Developer.

My Role at SGS

As founder of Seminaut Game Studios, it is crucial to assist the team in any way possible to produce the best games that we can. With each game, we are able to achieve higher and go further. Thanks to my wonderful team, I have found that acting as the Producer and leading the charge for Game Programming has suited us the best. I will generally try to strike a good balance between working with each team to both assist and manage their tasks, and getting the programming done for the game as necessary. Michael Bockemuehl is our Game Studios Manager which has been an amazing fit. This opens up some doors to allow me to focus on the most important aspects of the Producer role. In turn, this creates time for me to really nail the game programming aspects we need, as they are absolutely essential to seeing our game to life while we have limited development capacity.

I personally love the give-and-take between the producer and game programming roles. I find myself able to grow as a leader, dip my toes into what each of our teams is working on, and see the vision for our games come to life as a producer. On the other hand, as a game programmer, I am able to get into the detailed technical aspects of the game, ensure to the best of my ability that we will have a functional and smooth-operating game, and truly reach my the height of my value for the company with the experience I have in VR gameplay programming.
